As a Regional Housing Center, Polk CDC is your “one-stop shop” for homeownership information and support in Polk County. Whether you are a current or prospective Polk County homeowner, we offer a variety of programs to help you achieve high-quality, affordable, and sustainable homeownership.
Counseling
Polk CDC offers free budget, credit, and homebuyer counseling to Polk County residents. For current Polk County homeowners, we also offer preliminary counseling for persons facing foreclosure or delinquency. Classes
Polk CDC offers Financial Fitness and the ABC’s of Homebuying classes to help you improve your personal finances and navigate the homebuying process from start to finish. Other Programs
In addition to classes and counseling, Polk CDC has programs that can help bring affordable homeownership within reach for low and moderate income Polk County residents. These programs include:
- Individual Development Accounts (IDAs): The Valley Individual Development Account (VIDA) collaborative helps Polk CDC provide prospective homeowners with a 3-to-1 match on savings towards a down-payment. Learn more on the VIDA section of our site.
- Home Repair Loans: Polk CDC’s Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program provides low-interest loans to help low and moderate income Polk County homeowners make necessary repairs and renovations. Learn more in the Home/Commercial Improvements section of the site.
