Resident Services
Polk CDC does more than just build and manage affordable rental housing. We also deliver programs that help families and children to grow and thrive. Click on the links below to find out more about how we can help you achieve your goals!
Tenant Stability
We work with tenants and property managers to welcome our residents to the community and help them stay in their housing. Our goal is to help resolve property management issues, disputes between neighbors, late payment of rent, and other issues that can affect the stability and quality of your housing situation.

Resource and Referral
Polk County possesses a large and dynamic community of social service providers, both government agencies and private non-profits. We help connect our residents to resources in our community that match their needs and aspirations.
Asset-Building Programs
We offer Financial Fitness and ABCs of Homebuying workshops to help our residents improve their money management skills and move towards buying a home. We also offer Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) which match three dollars for every one dollar of participant savings towards homeownership, higher education, or small business development.
Youth Programs
We offer summer and after-school food and activities programs to help enrich the lives of children living in and around our properties. Since 1991, Polk CDC has also managed the Carol Hensley Children’s Fund, which provides small grants to help Polk County children pay for school clothes and supplies, summer camps, sports and activities fees, medical/dental co-pays, and other needs.
Special Events
Our properties are not just places to live. They are vibrant, active communities. Join us for everything from barbeques to scrapbooking to movie nights.
